Happy Monday friends!
Last week did not go at all like I had planned for it to go. Last Sunday, I went to church early to serve, and Josh texted me while I was there, saying he wasn’t feeling well and wouldn’t make it. This began our more than week long battle with flu B! Josh was sick all week, then on Wednesday, Jameson got it. I did some research, and took lots of your advice and decided not to give my kids Tamiflu. Josh and I both took Tamiflu (with very little side effects.) But I am going to share some things that have helped us a lot this week! These are all links, so you can buy these to stock up to have on hand, or if you’re dealing with the flu now, buy them today!
My friends (The Darling Sisterhood) recommended this to me. It is a homeopathic alternative to Tamiflu, and the kids have been taking this three times a day! It tastes like sugar crystals so every day the kids beg for it: Boiron Oscillococcinum 30 Doses Homeopathic Medicine for Flu-Like Symptoms,White
Elderberry gummies to help boost immunity:
Elderberry Gummies for Adults & Kids (90 Gummies) – Kate Naturals.
Ever since I heard the dreaded “f word” – I have been swabbing my nose 2-3 times a day with these! If momma gets sick who’s going to take care of everyone?!
Since Jameson has been running some high temperatures, the doctor advised me to alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen.
A couple other exciting things that happened this week… My grandparents moved into their new house about five minutes down the road from us! My mom came into town to help them get settled. I wasn’t much help this week with the kids being sick. I’m sure going to miss having them here, but I’m so thankful to have them nearby! On Saturday, I left the house for a few hours to attend the Atlanta Gift Show and got to buy some really cool new things for Jules & James! Although this week was less than ideal, I was thankful for the time at home and the extra snuggles I got from my babies. Sometimes life just forces you to stop and to slow down, and that’s okay too. I hope that everyone is well in your household. Remember to drink your water and to take good care of yourself so that you can take good care of everyone else!
