the Generosity Project

2 Corinthians 9:6-7

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

When I started Jules & James Boutique about three years ago, my goal was to be able to give generously. I founded the company on Generosity, Kindness & Friendship. I believe in these three principles so much that I made it the Jules & James Boutique tagline. You might even have a tee with those words on it!

Through the last few years, as a company, we have been able to give generously to both global ministries and humanitarian efforts. Our vision is focused not only on global efforts, but local causes as well. We support local schools, and have been able to bless our teachers with gifts at various times.

Recently, we started recognizing “World Hope Wednesdays” at the Jules & James warehouse. World Hope is an organization that I have been personally involved with for over ten years. I have traveled to Kenya with them, and I support students at Hope Academy, the school they started in the Kawangware slum. I wanted the Jules & James staff to remember that with every box they open, with each item of clothing that is tagged, and with every package that is sent, they are supporting something so much bigger than each of us individually. As a loyal Jules & James customer, you can have confidence in knowing that we are a company that gives back. You are supporting something bigger than just our warehouse in Carrollton, Georgia. You are supporting worldwide and domestic organizations that are changing history and changing lives.

From this desire to have a generous heart, an idea was born over the summer at one of our staff retreats. Our creative team was on a three-day retreat, planning the end of 2019. We started each day with devotions in God’s Word, and a time of prayer for Jules & James Boutique: a prayer that God would use this company to do much for His honor and glory!

I believe that God has answered that prayer in a HUGE way! Here at Jules & James, we are making November a month to be intentional about being generous. We are also inviting all of YOU to take part in this with us!

We are calling it the Generosity Project. On Saturday, November 16th, our staff and their families will take part in a service project together. We are giving each and every one of our customers a challenge as well – we want YOU to participate in some act of service on the same day!

It can be as big as volunteering your time at a homeless shelter or nursing home. It can be as simple as buying a stranger a cup of coffee at Starbucks. The point is to do something on Saturday, November 16th that is GENEROUS!

If you have a prior engagement, and are unable to serve on November 16th, I greatly encourage you to choose another day to serve! Or, make the whole month a month of generosity! I truly believe that you cannot out give God. As you give, He will take care of you! So give with an open heart!

Our goal is to have 1,000 of our friends (that’s you) serving in some capacity that day! I will be serving, and I want to personally invite you to be a part of it! Take a picture of you serving, use the hashtag #j&jgenerosityproject, and I will feature a selection of your pictures right here on the blog on Thanksgiving Day!

Choose to be generous this Thanksgiving season. I truly believe that everything I have is from the Lord, and all the praise for any earthly success I have goes straight to Him. He has entrusted all of us with so much; let’s receive it with open hands, and return it back to Him!

Are you with me? I can’t pull this off without you! Join me in the Generosity Project on Saturday, November 16th. I can’t wait to see all of my friends serving and being GENEROUS!

  • This is awesome and I can’t wait to participate. I started participating in something called Wealth Wednesday. Every Wednesday, no matter how little I have to give, I give monetarily to someone without expecting anything in return and try not to let them know who it came from. It’s a beautiful thing to know I’m helping someone when I desperately need help myself. Difference is that I know God will always take care of my needs. I love everything you and your company stands for and will always support J&J! Thank you for using your platform to spread the love of God.
